Appropriately named 688 for it's location on Spring Street,

This alternative hangout was the favorite of my brother and Rupaul

who had a taste of the future in Athens but wanted something metro

where they could hit the Varisty after the scene was through. Lasting

only a few years in the 80's, 688 Club was not only the center of what

was to come but a beacon for something different when it came to the

downtown music scene. Just ask the cast of Clueless. {see if you can

spot the shirt in the iconic 90's classic}
